He finished graduate studies at the Faculty of Physics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) in 1964. In 1967 he closed the registration and conferment procedure for a doctoral degree at MSU in specialization of Theoretical Physics under supervision of Academician N. N. Bogoliubov.
He obtained PhD degree in 1968 (MSU)
In 1983 he defensed at MGU the degree of Doctor of Sciences.
Since 1990 he has became Professor.
The head of the Center of Gravitation and Fundamental Metrology (VNIIMS), the chairman of the Scientific Council of IGC PFUR, Professor of PFUR, the President of Russian Gravitational Society, the Editor of international journal „Gravitation & Cosmology” published by Springer.
The author of 4 monographies and more than 290 scientific papers published in referred journals.
